Apple has completely redesigned its entry-level iPad while making some key changes in the gadgets physical appearance.
On Tuesday, October 18, Apple Inc (NASDAQ: AAPL) made some important announcements revealing a new version of the iPad Pro models. This adds one more gadget to Apple’s arsenal ahead of the holiday shopping season in the US.
In addition to unveiling two new versions of the iPad Pros, the company unveiled a totally redesigned Apple iPad. The tech giant also released an updated version of the Apple TV 4K. Let’s take a look at each of these releases.
Apple iPad Pro 2022
The latest version of iPad Pro comes in two different size variants: an 11-inch model and a larger 12.9-inch model. Also, the new models come with Apple’s latest M2 processor featured in the MacBook Air launched earlier this year.
As a result, the new iPad Pro 2022 will be 15% faster than its predecessor from the last year. Interestingly, the Apple Pencil will also work a bit differently with the new models. The screen of the latest iPad Pro can detect the tip of the pencil 12 mm above the surface. Apple also stated that this will allow the artists to sketch with greater precision. Also, the feature makes handwriting-to-text conversions faster.
The 11-inch iPad Pro starts at a price of $799. Similarly, the 12.9-inch model will start at a price of $1,099.
The Redesigned iPad
The entry-level iPad from Apple will come with a completely new design. Apple has removed the home button at the bottom of the screen and replaced it with fingerprint readers in the power button.
The redesigned iPad comes with a squared design with a 10.9-inch screen size and a USB-C in place for a Lightning connector. The newly redesigned iPad will ship in different colors of red, white, yellow, and blue.
For this new entry-level iPad, Apple unveiled a new $249 Magic Keyboard Folio. this comes with a kickstand, a magnetic connector that automatically charges it, and a trackpad with support for multitouch.
Interestingly, the new iPad won’t with the second-generation Apple Pencil. Apple said that they will be selling different configurations including WiFi only and WiFi + 5G cellular. The redesigned iPad will start at a price point of $449.
Apple TV 4K 2022
The Apple TV 4K comes with a faster processor and will ship in two models. This includes a Wi-Fi-only version with 64GB of storage and a Wi-Fi + Ethernet model. The latter one can work with a wired internet connection and has twice the storage.
Apple’s streaming box comes with support for HDR10+. This is another high dynamic range standard that improves picture quality, especially in dark scenes. Also, the updated processor is 50% faster than the previous version. This will make loading apps and games faster.
The Apple TV 4K 2022 will come with Siri Remote and a standard USB-C charging. The starting price of the Apple TV 4K is $129.
